welcome to the board Dune,

my X has 3.73's and my CVW(loaded with junk/no water) is 19,750#'s...i don't have any problems pulling up the hills with my rig, but it's getting close..when i'm loaded with water and all(which adds 1K #'s +), i can really feel it(it will slow to 60mph up Baker grade)...

if you're rig is heavier than mine, and you plan on towing through the NV/UT/CA mountains i would go for the 4.10's if you can..

either way, these trucks can tow...i can make it to SLC with the trailer in 6 hours or down to O.C.,CA in a hair over 4...have fun...
