A $12,000 high performance diesel engine - and you are BARGAIN hunting for an oil filter?

First let me say I respect you opinion on technical advise that I have read being the lurker I am on this site but I must say as for you opinion on how others shop Not all of us are techs or employees and can get them at cost (20.00 from ford) most are quoted the usual 34.50 retail from the stealership parts counter. I myself can purchase at employee price but I will say I have purchased from checker before because of convenience. If you are doing your maint like ford recommend then that 12,000 retail (6,000 + or - 1,000 employee) high performance diesel engine should be ok with the other filters. So it is not crazy it is being consumer smart.
All the guy asked was are they the same and how they compare to the wix not what is the better bargain
