on my 2003 f350 6.0 i went through a crank sensor (cured it for about 8 months), then a cam sensor (cured it for about a month), and now they replaced the entire engine harness due to a history of internal shorts in the harness which kills the brain (no codes stored) and also kills the power to the injectors. Apparently the wire damage is internal to the harness and thus can't be seen (i.e, no smoking gun). So, i remain a skeptic and keep the dealer and tow truck company on speed dial.
