Re: Run used oil

ok I have been waiting to do this and like others did not want to jump into it and break my truck.
So here is what I have done. I wanted to do a test to see if the truck would run good on oil in the first place
so I was driving to town today and I was down to about 1/8 tank
5-6 gal in tank I am guessing , so stopped at Wal-Mart and bought 2 quarts of oil, I put one in and drove about 10 miles and stopped at another store (wanted to see if it was going to be hard to start) anyway I put another quart in and off I went , the truck start easy and drove fine. I checked my exhaust temp gauge ...no change there
so I have like 50 gal of used oil well at 2.60 gal x 50 = 130$ fuel saving to start . I have it filter down to about 20 micron using a reg oil filter. now I know that is not clean enough. I know the truck runs good on oil mix ..I just need to clean it up .. I ordered a bypass oil filter that use's a toilet paper roll. say's it will clean oil down to 1 micron. so if I mix it at 20% oil to diesel and get close to 1 micron . well I don't think it can hurt. people say it is acidy well you think that the fuel line will hold up to bio fuel/ methanol I don't think this will hurt. it save me from wasting oil... is the way I look at it, plus it will be 50 gal's of almost free fuel. yaya I know if it takes out the injectors than its not free, but I don't think that 1 micron oil is going to hurt.. and I don't plan on running it straight .
