Retirees and Vets Allowed to Salute Flag

Traditionally, members of the nation's veterans service organizations render the hand-salute during the national anthem and at events involving the national flag while wearing their organization's official head-gear. The National Defense Authorization Act of 2008 contained an amendment to allow un-uniformed servicemembers, military retirees, and veterans to render a hand salute during the hoisting, lowering, or passing of the U.S. flag. A later amendment further authorized hand-salutes during the national anthem by veterans and out-of-uniform military personnel. This was included in the Defense Authorization Act of 2009, which Former President Bush signed on Oct. 14, 2008.

They don't want to spend developement money to meet our often ridiculus emissions laws because they say there isn't a large enough market here. The reasons cited for low demand is that most of the USA's John Q. Public still think diesels are noisy, dirty (emissions wise), and smelly (fuel and exhaust wise). So... what are huge parts of the dialog about on this forum? What parts to buy or remove make our trucks louder and exhaust blacker. We could be driving 60 mpg Ford, GM, or Chrysler diesel cars but there's no market for them to import them to us. A couple of weeks ago, I traded the 2002 F-250 for a 2007 Explorer. We needed something that was easier to ride in, and easier to park. Plus I never really used the diesel for anything other than riding. Still have the 99 Dutchmen Fifth Wheel, but it only got pulled two or three times in the seven years that I had my truck.
