What are the cons of deleting the warm up or bypass tube on the transmission? And is there a kit to do it I saw where someone just smashed the tube closed but I want it done right. And also what is the advantage?

Is the Preston Flush/Fill Kit safe to remain installed:read:? The cap is just a hose bid PVC cap with a rubber gasket. If it is, it could also be used to connect a coolant filter instead cutting another hose or using the thermostate plug. Anyone have any problems leaving it installed?

Will a fuel pump help my setup?

Hello all. Help please! Current mods are in sig.
When I tow in any setting above (4) I get a check engine light (dont remember the code) but its the Low high pressure oil pump.
Wondering what would be the best option for a fix.
I typically tow around 7000 pounds. I am able to hold 55-60 mph in the mountains with the egts maxing out keeping them around 1200-1250 degrees.
Would I get better fuel economy if I can tow in position (4) 80 tow?
If I buy a booster fuel pump, would it be worth its money in performance for my setup?
Im considering the fuel pump at this time but really dont want to upgrade the turbo and injectors for costs reasons.
Thanks for any help!
Harold

Hey everyone. I have a 2001 CrewCab 7.3 with 202K on it. Truck runs like brand new. Just purchased 36' 5th wheel, that is 10K dry weight. I live in Colorado and frequently travel over 11K mountain passes. I am looking to get some more power out of the truck to avoid going 15 mph up I-70. I think I want to stick with Banks kit, I hear nothing but great things about them. What do you guys recommend? I also need to do something on the intake side as Banks no longer makes an intake for 7.3s. I have also heard that adjustable modules like the 6 Gun Shooter are not the way to go, better to chip it once and be done with it. Thoughts or recommendations? My truck thanks you ahead of time.

Hey guys I needed some help with some options for my ehaust. I'm a college student so money is hard to come by but i've been looking to change my exhuast. I'm about to straight pipe my f250 and am kinda tired of the same 6'' tip i have come out the back. Some buddies think i should "dump" the exhuast with a turndown or do the side exit before the rear tire. Does one sound better than the other, any pros? cons? I'd appreciate the help.....thanks.

if you could get your hands on a set up up fitters out of a wrecked truck with the harness could you make them work on a 2001 truck. i am not really worried about cutting into the dash for a mount just about the wiring.

I'm Currently running the Diablo sport tuner in my EX. It came with the truck when I bought it. Just wondering what you guys think of the tuner or is there a better one out there. Driveability with this tuner is kind of harsh sometimes. If you're going over bumps and your foot gets to bouncing on the accelerator it really revs the motor up and down. I've had other 7.3s and ran an edge chip and superchips on them and there was never any driveability issues. So just wondering if anybody has had any experience with this tuner, is there a better tuner, or do I have something else wrong with my truck to give it these driveability issues.

ok well i made the mistake of having my diesel shop install my brandnew DP Tuner...and suprise suprise they fried my PCM, they say they installed the chip and ran the truck and ran fine... I have not had anyother problem with this shop and have been going here for years...I talked to Jody and he said the only way to fry the PCM is if the shop installed the chip wrong, and left the key in the ignition, which he clearly says NOT to do....anyways i got a new PCM put in, and my mechanic is trying to talk me into buying a Banks Programmer with 3 programs in it ( the kind you plug in to change programs) anyways im kinda torn between getting the Banks or installing my Dp Tuner myself??? i just want a lil added HP for when i tow....Im sending the chip back to jody this week to make sure its not fried as well. so do you think i should keep the DP or go banks..i dont want to fry another PCM .....all of your thoughts and opinions are really appreciated guys, thanks!

Nick

PS....yes i know the DP tuner is a easy install but i had the truck in the shop for some annual maintenece so i figured id have them throw it in.....bad idea!!
