First time I've used one on batt. for winter storage. Says.. 5/125 AH batt. 13.2 VDC max output. Just hooked up to fully charged diehard 12V car. batt. Noticed voltage slowly increasing..assume it wil eventuallly level off. I'll check v. later. But...

Says not for deep cycle batts. I have 2 (6V) trojan T105 = 225 AH. I assume this charger want work on these? If not Q..what other float chg. would? TIA

How do I determine fastener size?

I know this is a simple and almost too stupid of a question to ask but I have never had the need to know how. Whenever I need a fastener of any kind I just match them up with one I have as a guide. Now I want to get all the nuts, bolts, washers, and so on I have organized. I went out and got some storage bins and they are labeled by size. I now have the arduous task of going in and organizing all the randomly stored fasteners I have. Because I have only gone by head size and type, thread style, length, and radius I have no idea what the measurements mean on the bins. Can I get a little assistance in making my work area more organized?

None of the dome lights work

Just bought a 2001 Crew Cab Powerstroke 4x4. None of the dome lights work. The owner said the truck used to have a tv screen in it and was stole out of it. He said they didn't cut any wiring, but the dome light has been weak ever since. The map lights don't work either.

I checked the bulbs with my volt meter and they are fine. I took the housings off and this is what I found. Im not to keen on electrical systems so I dont know what Im looking for. Pic 0376 is the back seat light, 0374 is the front seat light. It appears a ground wire is missing from the front seat light. Don't even see a ground wire on the back seat. Not sure though.

Any ideas? Very annoying not having lights inside the cab!

Here is a link to my photobucket page.

53 series coolant leaking

I am seeking help on what to check next on my 2-53 John deere engine. I put new liners kits in it due to previous owners use of starting fluid and prolonged idle times. I should add the machine in is a remote site in the wrangle st. elias park. No roads, so it is a fly in only project. Now it runs and starts great but when I try to top up the coolant it runs out the air box drain!! I thought it was a torn liner seal or I didn't get the groove clean enough. Tore it down again and very carefully cleaned the grooves, installed new O rings with parker O ring lube on them. Back together again and it still pours coolant out the air box drain. No coolant in the oil. Tore it down again and brought the liners home with me for inspection. All the above work has been done in the field at - 20 f. I do not want to go back up there till I find out what I am doing wrong!! It did not leak coolant before I worked on it so I must be missing some obvious thing. I have several other machines that have diesel engines that I have overhauled so I do not mess up every thing I touch. This is the only 53 series , the others are 4-71,8-71and perkins 432. It leaks really fast, not like a oring that is not quite sealing.Ken The tops of the pistons are dry when I pull the head. Is there some other place the coolant could be getting in the air box? Ken

Irrigation Well Cost of Operation?

I'd like to know how to figure costs for pumping water for farm use. Right now there is a well that is about 80 feet deep set up for a regular 4" residential pump. The water level is about 20 feet down and if I recall, it would be 20-40 gpm, or possibly more. Head pressure at the well head would be maybe another 20 feet up. 3 phase electrical is available at maybe 20 cents per kwh. Propane and diesel are also options. How can I go about analyzing this data?

Thanks

How to flush an AC system?

Was going to replace the compressor, drier and expansion valve on my girlfriends 96 jetta. I was told even if there is no sign of debris that I needed to flush the system.

Anyone have any tips on how to do this? The only time I've tried flushing a system I had the evaporator out of the car and I emptied an entire arosol can of flush into it before it even dripped out the other side. I just cant imagine that is the most effective way to flush a whole system.

I have a vacuume pump and plenty of compressed air, is there some other way or some other chemical that can be used?

Thanks,
