Any adverse effects from no logout?

My ISP server has been crashing a lot lately, and leaves me disconnected until it comes back online. When I return to F-D, I am still logged in. What effect does the lack of proper logout have on the system? Any? ISP failure has happened four times in the last two days. No problem created here in my office as no one else has access to my main computer.

Dave, I hope someone comes up with an answer for ya, cuz I have'nt logged off since day one. (mostly cuz I forget to) Hope it does'nt degradate FD's system performance.

near as I can tell, log in/log out just sets a cookie to show your current status. I doubt if the web site knows either way. The security issue is the only one. - Mel

If you never exit your browser (like me), logout will reset your cookies so the new post indicators will work next time you visit. If you always exit your browser when you are through reading the site, it doesn't really matter.
