Avatar picture how to ?

I created an account at webshots for my avatar but its not working what do I do? [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]
I already read the FAQ about posting images.

Go to MY HOME, then EDIT Personal information. 2/3rds of the way down is the Avitar option. You will need to have a small picture (I use jpeg) at an easy spot (like your desktop). You can use the BROWSE option to tell the program to OPEN this link and your avitar will show up. Also, I believe there is a test forum that handles these types of questions....

I just posted in the testing forum I guess I didn't realise that's what it was for.
There wasn't a browse option that I saw in the avitar box. tried manually entering the url for a pic in webshots as well as in the member gallery both times it told me invalid picture type. also tried jpeg and gif formats.
