Re: boy I wish I could spell check on here

Moved to the News, Comments, and Suggestions
forum where it will be on topic.

Off topic posts cheat the folks who come to this forum to talk about upgrades and aftermarket items for their '99-up PSD. They don't want to have to wade through a lot of off topic stuff.

Folks with over 100 posts on this website should know better. Please don't do it again.

Fellows I agree but it is provided to the site free and Jason has no control over it.
I tried every thing I know how to, to see if I could get a screen open where I could e-mail them. No luck .
Just have to and bare it

Re: boy I wish I could spell check on here

Guys,

The spellchecker is almost worthless. Sometimes, it works fine but most times it doesn't work at all.

Try this - use a word processor, like Word or WordPerfect, that has spellchecker built in. Compose your post, check the spelling, then copy and paste the text into the F-D.Com window.

Re: boy I wish I could spell check on here

Trick for using the spell checker for those using Windows 95 or later and IE. Those with other operating systems and browsers can probably do simething similar:

If the spell checker in the Ford-Diesel editor doesn't work,

~~ then highlight your reply from within the editor and copy it to the Windows scratchpad [edit - copy on the top-left corner of the browser screen if you use IE as your browser].

~~ open your word processor that has a spell checker. Open a new document. Paste the reply from the Windows scratchpad into the document. Run the spell checker that came with your word processor. Save the document in a text format, such as DOS text or ASCII text. (If you use MS Word as your word processor, then you don't need to convert it from Word format.)

~~highlight the entire reply in your word processor text document, and copy it to the Windows scratchpad

~~ bring the Ford-Diesel.com window up to the top, delete the words that are already highlighted in that reply, then paste the spell-checked version into the reply window.

~~ You're done except for submitting the reply and getting rid of your word processor document.

Works for me - if I write a really long reply that really needs spell-checked.
