Can we forward posts here or links to posts here to other sites?
I know we can technically do it in that there are quotes of other posts and links to other sites. Question is are we allowed to do so?
This would be a Jason question?

Links are fine, but don't post full articles or posts from other sites. Also, it shouldn't turn into a constant thing, just in certain cases to make a point or provide information.
Also, the links should not be to a site where you have a commercial interest.

The other way around, quoting a post on this site and linking it to another site?

Yep. Linking is fine and dandy. Quoting, or even paraphrasing, is questionable because it gets into the complications of copyright law.
But linking to sites that are off topic for TheDieselStop is not a good idea. Commercial sites in which you have a financial interest is the biggest no no. But also porn sites or any site that includes material that is not suitable for a "G" rating.

Actually for instance say BigDaddyT (a Cummins guy) makes a quote that I find informative in the diesel other page and I want to quote what he said one on the turbodieselregister web site. Can I forward one of his quotes if I find it informative, on some other site? I would doubt what he says in a hidden name is personally copyrighted material!

Let's quit splitting hairs here, we know what the site rules are and what their vision of right and wrong is..........just stay away from gray areas and have a good time and learn from the thousands of knowledgeable folks here..........for God's sake let's move on..........
