I did not do this moderation but it was done as the rules require.
Thank you for the response dave. However, there was no LINK to an ebay auction. I stated something along the lines of "will be on ebay starting at so and so time". Is that honestly grounds for deleting the thread? Don't you think that is a little overboard with a power trip? I mean.....c'mawn here. Mods want members to be civil and not discuss illegal tampering but can't be civil to members by simply editing the thread/post and PMing the member? Lead by example tds crew. This is the only diesel site I frequent where members continuely gripe about management.
No power trip, the intention of the rule is to keep this site from becoming a shill for eBay or any of the other online auction sites as well as for any selling site.
The reference to the auction was the violation.

alright well I see my 2nd thread was moved. Although, when I click on the link to see where it was moved to it says I do not have access to that page. I couldn't imagine being the mod doing the editing. What exactly is the person saying to themselves while deleting/moving threads instead of simply editing them. "Instead of doing what i should by simply editing I'll just delete this thread because I can." Sure it's your "job" but where is common sense and courtesy. I am familiar with vbulletin as I moderate another site that uses vbulletin and I know how simple it is to edit a members post. If you would like I could give you a step by step instruction on how-to. Much easier than deleting the thread, imo.
Like stated above, much easier to edit FOUR letters out of a thread instead of pissing off your members by deleting their threads. It specifically says LINK and mentions nothing of stating the word ebay. <--oops maybe this thread will get deleted now. All it takes is an edit followed by a courtesy PM asking not to post the word ebay.
Forum policy keeps us from disucssing moderations in the forums. As moderators we try to keep it private. I thought this may be informational for folks not directly involved - the information is contained here, therefore this thread is locked.
