Could I suggest a return to civility?

The 6.4 forum is turning into a war ground of sorts. I remember the early days of the 6.0 forum it was sort of the same way. Folks reported problems, folks reported great results, the two opposing experiences were at odds. In my opinion it detracted from the value of the forum. Now we have a new engine. Some folks are real happy with it, others are having some problems. There is room for both views here. I would like to see us tolerate all opinions. If someone is obviously starting trouble I trust the moderators here to handle that, but I am seeing more and more of it from long time posters here. I don't like that, and no one else should either. The bottom line is that most of us here are passionate about Ford diesels. Let's get the information out, good or bad and lay off the attacks from all sides. I have done it myself. So I am no "holy than thou" type guy. Ease up. Let's discover together what is going on with the new engine, and do it in a technical, inquisitive, and meaningful way. I believe that will benefit all of us. Let's quit working the moderators to death and be responsible. Just my opinion and a comment.

KingTut:
I agree with you about the 6.4 forum. I have a 6.4 on order also. And yes, I have gone thru the various motors, good and bad including the bashing and congrats on both ends. What I don't remember seeing is the I heard or he said, but it really wasn't mine, or about mine, or I had this happen and then change the post significantly. It almost seems like some are trying to be in the right place at the right time with the wrong information or maybe even bogus information. What I wish for is the right information without it being modified to anyones hidden agenda. I want the truth, and yes I can handle it. Nothing more - nothing less. The moderators should not allow a reckless statement/post to go unchallenged. Some people think if it was written it must be true. TUT: Your heart is in the right place about the PSD, but we always get a glimpse of the future by looking at the past. I don't get too far from the middle when it comes to Diesels, or else I am getting too old to change my ways.

Re: Could I suggest a return to civility?

I'm still waiting for Diesel Jay to post on 6.4 problems (or not). I have yet to see a post from Jay that is not backed up with some solid facts.

Re: Could I suggest a return to civility?

Yes...and on that note i would like to apologize for getting into a battle of wits with another user on here over information i shared from a personal and similar experience at work.

I just take being called a liar and/or being accused of not knowing what i am talking about very personally

However...to the current and future 6.4 owners, good luck and let us know how it all works out!
