Currently browsing and Who's online

I just noticed this. Don't know how long it has been functional...not long would be my guess.

My first impression is TOO COOL!

My second impression however is REALLY TOO COOL!

Re: Currently browsing and Who's online

Now, if there was a way you could send one of the members online an instant message through the forum in some way? What good does it do to know someone else happens to be sitting in a chair doing the same as you?

Someone must know why this option has been added, so hopefully we'll all be the wiser soon.

Dale, Jason mentioned in another thread he put it on to get a feeling for the number of users in the evening. The servers' crunching and needs help, he is seeing how much help is needed..

Re: Currently browsing and Who's online

Next you'll be reporting my thoughts and ideas. I'll keep them clean and cordial for my Big Brother.

On edit: I guess I could wear a grounded aluminum-foil hat, or just browse without logging in.

Re: Currently browsing and Who's online

I'm not sure why but I think that this feature is kind of creepy. I typically browse without logging in and being identified as guest really makes me feel like the lurker I was before I got my truck.

I do realize that the 'Hide from Who's Online?' exists but going back and forth a few times loggin with yes/no and refreshing each time still shows me on the list that I look at.

I would be more interested in seeing monthly stats showing my addiction #'s. I bet it would be a real eye opener and fun for comparison but not so real time.
