WARNING: "W32.Goner.A@MM" Worm Warning
BigFix has noticed that Symantec and McAfee are reporting an increased rate of infection and level of damage caused by the "W32.Goner.A@MM" worm.
Please note that you ARE NOT currently infected by this worm.
This worm typically spreads via email messages. The message being distributed has a subject header of 'Hi' and an included file attachment called 'GONE.SCR'
The message body is:
How are you ?
When I saw this screen saver, I immediately thought about you
I am in a harry, I promise you will love it!
If this worm infects your comptuer, it will mail itself to other users using email addresses from your address book and then attempts to delete a number of executable program files on your PC including worm protection software. If you receive this message - please ensure you DELETE THE MESSAGE without accessing the file attachment. If you have viewed this message in preview pane there is no problem so long as the file attachment has not been opened.
Note: In general, you should only open an attachment if you are already expecting to receive a file of that type from the sender.
