DIESEL FUEL

I am considering moving from gas to diesel. I saw a clip on a Denver TV station about the new fed requirements for diesel fuel over the next 10 years. If this is true how will the current (2001 and newer) engines work on this new fuel? thanks for the help

Re: DIESEL FUEL

denys,

First, let me welcome you to the site!

Second, you ask a very good question. At this point, I'm not sure anyone knows the answer. I'm afraid that it will be much like the gasoline problems caused when the EPA decided that leaded gas was a problem, and also like the problems when they decided that diesel had too much sulfur. Both instances caused problems with some engines.

I predict this thread will be closed and moved to General Diesel in short order. Smokey, where are you? Here's a chance to add a post that will help reach the 10,000 mark.

Mike

Hi, Mike - I'm still here.

And Hi to you too, denys, and let me be the second to welcome you to Ford-Diesel.com.

This website has several different forums, and various subjects are "on topic" in various forums. This particular forum is reserved for discussions about the operation of www.Ford-Diesel.com. Several other forums are reserved for discussions about '99-up PowerStroke Diesel (PSD) trucks, and some are reserved for discussions about other years of Ford diesel trucks. We even have one forum devoted to gas engine Fords, and one devoted to towing and hauling.

Another forum is called General Diesel, because it is reserved for discussion about diesel trucks that don't qualify for one of the other technical forums - sorta gives the Dodge and GM fans a place to get in their opinions [within reason]. And last but not least, we have the Other forum. If something would not be on topic in any other forum, it will probably be moved to the Other forum.

But even the Other forum has some restrictions. No discussion of religion is allowed [including abortion], and discussion of politics in general and the politics of guns are limited to two open topics at any one time.

Again, welcome to the website. I hope you enjoy your time her as well as mhardin does.

I'll move this thread to the General Diesel forum where it will be on topic. Look there for additional responses to your inquiry.
