Dropping the Hammer In The General Diesel Forum

Gentlemen,

As of late I noticed that the General Diesel Forum has become a bit of a Free for all. A few threats, some personal insults and brand wars are a plenty. I will not allow it to continue any further.

I am asking that this Forum be restored to the decent place it once was. The offending persons have been contacted and hopefully this issue will correct itself with no further intervention on my part.

Thank You
Keith Anderson

Re: Dropping the Hammer In The General Diesel Forum

Just checked out 5 or 6 of the closed threads down in the "General Diesel" forum to see what all of the excitement was about.

Seems to me like a lot of time and energy spent without a lot of learning going on.

Kind of like an elementary schoolyard "discussion".....

Yeah you are...

No I'm not...

Yeah you are...

No I'm not...

Yeah you are...

What a waste of time...

I'm disappointed that I even spent 3 minutes of my time checking it out, just so I could offer an opinion up here...

Thanks, Keith...

Great move...

Re: Dropping the Hammer In The General Diesel Forum

Jack,
Good luck trying to keep it civil.
Brand wars should be fun, I doubt that will happen..

Re: Dropping the Hammer In The General Diesel Forum

Additionally,

I will delete any posts with content regarding the concerted effort to annoy or harass the people at the GM site, The TDR or any other Diesel Site. If you want to do such a thing it will not be bragged about or spoken about here without consequences. We have no control over what you do there but we do have control here and we are willing to use it.

We Just will not stand for something that if reversed would cause us the same heartache you fellas are causing the moderators over in the competing sites.

Re: Dropping the Hammer In The General Diesel Forum

Folks including me did not like Catia/dmax/hoot/Mike's provocations here and wanted him off the site. Why on earth would we then go over and do the same to another site? Making trouble seems like a waste of time.

Re: Dropping the Hammer In The General Diesel Forum

I notced the GM site stuff on here too. It's like they're using this site to plot their childplay on the other site. We don't see too much of it on the TDR since it's a pay site, which I like.

The only thing I don't like about TDR being a pay site is the intelligent competing discussions that we miss out on over there.

I may start a free forum for everyone to use as a brand war thing and competing discussions to cover that missing element, as long as it's done within reason.

So yes, let me turn this into a survey, would you guys like to see something like that or not? If so, I'll do it. That's also if Jason is in agreement with it as I don't want to attempt to steal readership.

Jack

Re: Dropping the Hammer In The General Diesel Forum

The reason I enjoy this site is because it is so professional in the topics and the people. Thanks for taking action on removing the brand war topics that I dislike very much.
Now for something really important . I am very new to this site and am learning but my question is , How do I become a member ? Or do I misunderstand the being a member thing ?

Re: Dropping the Hammer In The General Diesel Forum

Keith:

Good call.

We don't allow that type of activity here, and we should not encourage it on other sites. Not only is it in bad taste, but members of other sites will come here to retaliate, not something I would like to see here.
