Dumb Question

What does the red number in parens next to the replies number in the "News, Comments, and Suggestions" section mean?
ie: 6 <font color="red">(3)</font> [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]

It disturbs me how some reply to posts on this site. If someone asks a sincere question, why beat them up over it. Answer the question or don't reply! Especially when they say it may be a dumb question, but really want the answer.

Eh there Shadowgray, there is no such thing as a dumb question around here. It is a public forum and some folks aren't as computer saavy as others.

To answer your question, it is new responses since you last viewed that thread (when you logged in last).
