Re: Forum Changes Coming Soon

Jason, is there profile and e-mail icons for everybody? Things of that nature or, will it look just like that except Ford-Diesel.com yellow and white?

Re: Forum Changes Coming Soon

Jason,
The status quo is great.
After reading about the new features, I'm becoming wary. You know, "Oh stuff, they're killing Santa Klaus".

Hey, we have faith in you, do what ya gotta do!!

Re: Forum Changes Coming Soon

John,

You click on a user's name to see the profile, private messages, etc.

Yardbrew,

I'm not doing it for more features, I'm doing it because I'm afraid UBB will crash and burn on us at some point in the near future.

Re: Forum Changes Coming Soon

What Jason plans will be great for the site. The current UBB version uses flat text files and Perl. Very slow and cumbersome. The new UBB Threads uses PHP and the MySQL database. This will be a much better solution for a site of this size than the current UBB. I know that doesn't mean much unless you are a web or database programmer, but it is a very important move. Just sit back and watch, it will be worth the downtime.

Re: Forum Changes Coming Soon

Jason,
If changing the forum format makes it easier for you or any of the moderators/administrators, I'm all for it. I can't even try to calculate how valuable the information I've gotten from this site is and I thank you for all your work. You know Jason, if you use Oracle, and your site isn't at least three times faster than with your old database, then Larry Ellison will give you a million bucks

Re: Forum Changes Coming Soon

I beleive it will be a misstake if its any thing like this site!

http://bbs.off-road.com/wwwthreads//...adjeepcherokee

Its not as easy to use as the stuff were using now!I've been a member of that site for awhile now and don't like the format as well as here!
The one you posted seem OK thou!

Think hard on it!
