It's only my opinion but, it sure didn't take the new owners long to turn the best site around into the worst site. I can honestly say I don't think I have ever been to web site that has as much advertising as this. It is truly awful.
For instance I have a multi screen computer and I am ALSO on V-twinforum.com a harley site (apologies to administrator(s) for the reference to another site) but the example I make is that the Harley site which is way bigger than this one has this very second an add for suspensions, an add for a programmer, an insurance company, so they have three adds on the page.
The adds on the Harley site don't stop me from seeing the forum threads any more than they do here. The INTERNET is a BUSINESS and as such requires some way to pay the bills and make profit. Why is this all that complicated?
Every day I see a new bunch of posts asking why there are adds, and this puzzles me as to why people would wonder.

I'm showing 3 google ads (one up top, two at bottom), one banner (up top), and Google text ads above the userbar.. that is 5 on one page, not including the autoforums ad at the very bottom.. so that makes 6
Making money and getting rich are two different things.
I have a T1 line at work and still have to wait a considerable amount of time for page loads.
I started a thread not knowing that this one existed. I find it hard to swallow that advertisements get beter billing than many threads.
Too many ad's, Too many ad's.
On a side note.......... Lifetime membership means exaclty that, lifetime, not 25 years. Look it up in the dictionary or e-mail legalzoom.com opps another advertisement.

I'm not a computer geek but right this second I see 4 very small adds at the very bottom, I had to page down all the way to see them.....no big deal.
At the very top I see a fairly small add for Frozen Rotors and three very small google adds. By very small I mean the size of your thumb. pun intended!!!
This is not blocking my view of the site one bit and from time to time I actually clickk on the adds, like frozen rotors.
Lifetime? Well I'm 57 so in 25 years I'll be 82 and for most of us that's a lifetime.

I've got Roofeditor beat. I don't see any adds on this page for this thread. At the top there is the TDS banner and at the bottom there are the links for the rest of the forums owned by this company.
I am running Firefox and disabled the ads on my profile page. I am not the only one that sees a huge increase in page loading for this site by using Firefox. I have to use IE at work and I get the blank page, but with Firefox I don't.

I have to go with what is said on this post. Firefox rocks. And yes I know it not our job to fix the site but Firefox takes all the snivel out of your viewing pleasure.

Just for kicks, I logged on to the site this morning at work. I don't know what kind of connection we have here, but it is a large multinational corporation so I am sure it is the fastest connection possible and we use IE.
I now know what you guys are *****ing about. It does take a long time to load the pages up. I get the banner at the top with white page and "done", then it does some more loading, then it's like it refreshes and loads the page.
I'm still waiting to hear what the membership did for me ...aside from more storage for PM's & two stickers...
The site is as slow as it can be & no help or answers from administration other than to fix it myself....
I see your a Lifetime Supporting Member, it says 25 years but I think it really means until the new owner sells it. You know, like all the health clubs that lock the doors and put up crappy one page "sorry" messages after six months of signing up "Liftime Members"!
I have been around here a long time and I would pay a membership fee if it stopped all the useless streaming ads. I don't know about you, but if an add is animated or annoying, I REMEMBER THE NAME, and make DAMN SURE TO BOYCOT the product no matter how good it may be. Jam it down your throat till your sick of it advertising just ticks me off, it's like televangelism, or ministers from hell. Have you ever met an honest one? (hmmm, I wonder what Jim Bakers maker said when he arrived!)
Come on they have bills to pay and need to also make a profit, how else?

Yes we all know its free to us because of the ads. I suppose if we had never seen it the old way then the comparison wouldnt be bothering some of us. Its not just the amount of ads. Its the format. I think everything about this site is harder.
By the way---for those of you with firewalls, most sites in the web use only a few sources to hold and display their ads. I could give you a short list to place in your firewalls that would block almost all ads in the web but that wouldnt be fair to the owners so I wont.
I compare this change to trading your wife for a newer flashier model that is stupid and only married you for your money. She may look hot but gets on your nerves so much that you wish you had kept your comfortable older model. LOL
