Grateful For the Diesel Stop
This is a great web site. I've been a member since about November 2001 and this group of people and knowledge has been helpful on a number of occasions. Just this Monday while driving in Seattle in my 1997 F250 the brake warning light would flicker on/off at stop lights. I looked it up in the owners manual and checked the brake fluid, which was OK, which lead to a probable vacuum pump. I searched The Diesel Stop and found the trouble shooting guide, and did a preliminary check of hoses which were also OK. I drove bake home on Tuesday with the light comng on intermittantly at stoplights. Today when I went to get a vacuum guage the PSD mechanic told me to just pull the hose and put my thumb over the port, if its weak its bad -- I did and it was really weak. 30 minutes to get the pump off, 129$ at NAPA for a new pump (rebuilt), $5 to change the pully and 20 minutes to reinstall. Great web site keep up the good work.
