Keep in mind, I am a complete idiot when it comes to computers. I noticed many have pictures to click on at the bottom of their signatures. I went to "Community Webshots" and it seems there is a monthly fee???????? Maybe I misunderstood, but all I want is to be able to attach pictures to my signature. Re: How do I attach pictures to my signature??????
Webshots is actually a free photo hosting service. You only have to pay if you want extra perks. Write the following code in the body of your signature to add a link to your pictures. [url=http://]web page[\url] Replace the words "web page" with the web address of your pictures. And use the / symbol instead of the \ symbol, like this /url. I had to write it that way on this post so that it wouldn't create a link. If this doesn't make sence then I'm sure one of the moderators can explain it better.

Re: How do I attach pictures to my signature??????
Posting pictures right here at TheDieselStop.com is a free service provided to any member. Members are allotted 2 megs worth of disc space to post their pictures in. Once you have the pictures posted in your gallery here, you can link to an individual image or your gallery in your signature just like you can/would link to a Webshots image or folder/gallery.
Go to the Photo area here and login in using your same username and password that you use for the forums and "have at it".

Another thing is if you have a photo editor program, lower the resolution down to 40k-75k if you can. The quality is good enough and you can pack far more pictures in the 2 meg limit that way.

Re: How do I attach pictures to my signature??????
You don't really lower the resolution (dots per inch) you compress the data within the photo to achieve a smaller file size as mentioned.

Re: How do I attach pictures to my signature??????
A 640 x 480 image that is around 80K or so is what I used to shoot for when I was uploading the submitted photos. Now with bigger monitors and faster download speeds a 100k image is fairly common. But as you say, the bigger they are, the smaller number of total images you can put in your gallery.
