How the Economy has affected The Diesel Stop

Back in 2000 I was a member of this fourm in search of information of the Ford Powerstroke trucks I drooled over since 1996. Smokey Wren and Bobby William from Sunrise Ford were Active contributers to the fourm way back then. Everyone was putting Banks Kits and Liftkits on there trucks like crazy, In 2004 a co-worker and I bought new trucks, I bought the Dodge 3500 CTD Him an F250 PSD 6.0l. We were nuts lining the trucks up side by side and measuring the insides of the door side by side, he complained about wind noise and a death wobble in the front end straight away, Me I thought the A/C was kinda weak on the Dodge but a great truck otherwise however.

These days the fourm is not as active as I rememberd it but still a great fourm however, heck go on Glock Talk and those Guys are Bigger Fanatics than we were back in 2000-2005. I hope the Venders and Contributers to the Diesel Stop ride out these tough times and the Big 3 keep making Diesel 8 lug truck for us.

A Question many friends off this fourm who think I'm addicted to Diesel Ask Me "What's better Power Strokes or Cummins Diesel Trucks?" Well I have had both and dont have a clear answer and cant really give one as both trucks have strong and weak points to them. Engines, I would say the Cummins, whole truck, I suppose it depends on the year. Just my opinion.

If it has spark plugs or less than 8 lugs, it is not a truck.

The aftermarket diesel industry seems relatively unaffected by the economy. I don't frequent here much anymore, but other message boards that I do frequent are booming with site sponsors pouring in. A lot of the vendors who you used to see here have said they are having their best year yet. So fortunately, our hobby seems to be largely immune to the economy.

I like many others really enjoy this site. The hard times and the economic issues are just something we all will have to endure. That being said, may I for a line or two express a real thorn in my side : I live relatively close to Ft. benning, Georgia which is the largest infantry training base in world. Frequently I see trucks of the Hino and other foreign brands. If our feds cannot buy from the big three "WHAT THE HECK". Support the big where your tax dollaars are going. Buy the FORD, CHEV, and DODGE !!!!!
Thanks for the opportunity to get this off my mind !!

I agree, this forum used to rock and was the place to get information.

It all went down hill when it was sold off to autoforums who clearly are more concerned about revenue than anything else.

The site bogged down so bad with advertising banners and was so slow many people left in favor of other forums.

I visit here only on occassion now. Its not uncommon to see someone post a question now and it will sit for days before it gets a response. I know I will rarely respond to them even when I have the answer to thier question.

So buying a Dodge Ram HD that is "Hecho en México" is better than buying a Hino that is built at 3 locations in the US and 1 in Canada?
