Yes, I remember something taking place back in that era. Don't know exactly what it was though.

If I remember right I used dkean. When I tried to use it again it said it was already being used. Duh Ya by me. So it dumped my sign in name but remembered me when I tried to use it again.

Your rememberer doesn't function any better than mine.
You've registered at least 4 times. But never under dkean. You haven't used three of those accounts in years, if ever.

So twice with the same e-mail addy. The system is not supposed to allow that? But somehow both accounts "took".

So two accounts with usernames that begin with DEK and two more that begin with DK. And a similar problem with the e-mail addresses. So I'm glad I'm not the only one with a bad case of CRS.
If you wish to use the DEKean account, then notice the e-mail addy. Be sure your ISP will recognize that addy. Then sign on to TheDieselStop under username DEKean and tic the button for the system to send you your password. The password will be e-mailed to the e-mail addy you registered that username with = DEKean827@ your ISP. So be sure your ISP still has that account for you - if not you'll never receive the password.

Not long after that rally, Ford lawyers forced Jason to change the name of the website. I have CRS, so I don't remember the exact year, but I seem to remember he had to have it done by January, 2002. (But maybe it was a year later?) I'm sure members with better memories will set me straight.
I don't have a better memory, Smokey, but I can still do research.
I just looked up a few dates, as this thread got my curiousity up.
On 7/29/02 Jason posted about the cease-and-desist letter he got from Ford. Another post mentioned that Sep 13, 02 was the "pumpkin date" for the change.
On 7/30/02, Jason posted the new name, TheDieselStop.com which was gleaned from suggestions by members. Big K and CapeCod shared the credit for coming up with it.
Well Smokey it looks like I have CRS with complications. I know I don't remember what server I had back then but I am sure it was dial up. I have DSL now and don't want to go back to dial up.

i remember the old pages back then. I was new to the internet and took me a while to join. Seems I remember when you went to the website it was a picture of lester and an old ford diesel cartoon picture and you heard the diesel engine.
