Unless they address some of the members conserns it is going to die a slow death.
Already most of the members that KNOW something and have been through most of the problems that we experience have already moved on to the other sites. If you get on the other sites you will see that The Diesel Stop is becoming the ugly stept child in that all they come here for is for a laugh.

Hey guys,

This is Nick and I am a part of the Autoforums team that is helping out with the site. I have been trying to help out with the site and help with the concerns that the members are having. I have been using an administrator account, i dont not have many posts on this account. I have been in contact with a few members that have had concerns. What is it that we have not been able to help out with?

The load speed of the site was the problem. It seems to be better now. Even on DSL it used (2 or 3 weeks ago) to take 15 seconds to load. The guys with dial up really had a bad time.

5-15 seconds to load.... then sometimes it freezes up and takes 15-20. Then when you use the back button it takes just as long. I can't upload firefox since I am at work and my home computer is several years old and just dies when it tries to load the site. So I don't even bother coming here. I just came back to see if anything has been done to improve it.

It used to be nice to just pop in and read some posts in just a few minutes. Now you can not do that and it didn't seem like anybody was even trying to fix it. So I don't come here anymore and alot of guys that have so much knowledge have already left and they won't be back....

For about the 20Th time ,maybe more ...

The PAGE HEADER LOADS ,,,THEN........................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ................

Sometimes 5 -15 seconds after the browser says done ..,a google add flashes ,then instant page load,,not always ,,but way too often ..

This is the only site I visit (out of maybe 8) that has this issue..& they all have adds ....

I have no intention of switching to firefox ,,,for one site .

You guys might have to dump your browser history files or clean up some cookies.
I run a program called "HISTORY KILL" that cleans the computer browser files every time I close the browser and I can tell you that my DiseslStop home page loads in a second every time. You should also try typing the web address in instead of using a favorite link and see if it helps as these favorite bookmarks get damaged alot more than you think. I created a new bookmark after the change of owners and the new bookmark (favorite) loads right up

Okay, so can I ask that we start trying to diagnose this problem? Some have said that they are not experiencing issues. I am not seeing any load time issues. The load time is not noticeable to me. If we can figure out if there are certain settings that could be causing a lag, or a browser setup that would optimize the site.

The ads are not slowing my load times. There are others that have not seen slow load times. What is different about their and my machines/settings that is not showing slow load times? That is what I am trying to figure out.

I have noticed that this afternoon it seams that it is loading a lot faster. Where I was seeing most of my problems was after I opened the main page and then tried to navigate around the site.
