Might be a dumb question but how do you know what a member's # is in the search area if all you have is his member name? Thanks for any help.

Try searching by typing username in "Search Words" field and then do the search.
Be careful, once you get the search results and you click on one of the links you can't go back.
Try right clicking on the search result link you want and then open it in a new window.
Rex-a-Ford,
I tried that with my username this morning and had 0 results. I had a guy email me on an old topic of mine this morning and I couldn't find it till I found out my own number after I posted this topic. Thanks for the response.

Jack, does the TDR realize that you have such a low member # on a Ford page??
I think I remember Wayne? Once they move on up to the 99up forums, there gone for good. I remember those old ABOL days also.

>Do what Rex says.
>After that comes up you can get his # and write it dowm off of one of his post or replys.
>If not there you can hit the back button and it will take you back to the list.
>If you click the back again it will take you back to where you put in the users name.
>You can then use the drop down box to check another section of the forum for a post from him.
>This will bring up new posts to check. .
> When you see his name , his # will there as usual.
ON EDIT: >I went back and it worked, but do not forget there are two sections (like Engine and driveline) in the drop down box list. Jason has not had time to combine them. This is definiatly understadable HUH??
I think that is what I did and hope that helps a little, kind of a pain, but that was the easiest way I found.

Sorry guys, just got back and did a little further testing on searching by member name.
Looks like I misled you by saying you use the "Search Word" field to search by Member Name. It doesn't work.
Please accept my apologies for the misleading info.
One thing you might want to try is this......
If you can see the member name and number in the author column or anywhere on the page being displayed.....position your mouse at the start of the member number, left click, drag to the right to highlight the member number, right click, select copy from the popup menu.......
Now go click on the search target...
When the search screen comes up, right click in the member number box, select paste from the popup menu.
This is kinda a short cut for copying and pasting the member number........into the memeber number search field
Hope this helps a little..
Ray its kind of like looking back on a misspent youth isn't it. It was fun but things are better now, most of the time.
Charles was the fellow from Alaska if my thinking is correct. What a truck he had.
Last I heard about Jerry was from JJ and he says that Jerry moved to Georgia and hates it, he wants to go back to Chicago.
Mike I am with you , but I think I joe Blow in San Fran Diego, British Territories.
I could not find his zip code though. Could you help a buddy out??
Almost clear as mud, but you can make it work
