The other forum USED to be a place where we could say Merry X-Mas and Happy new year and get well Charlie when he was sick ect. Basically a place to NOT talk trucks. Every one needs a break once in a while. Every site i participate in has one. It was said it take to long to police it which IMHO is just bunk. I was looking through some forums this afternoon and came across a Ford truck forum (better not post a link or i'll get in trouble) with over 300,000 members!!!! Guess what the 1st forum at the TOP OF THE PAGE was??

There are 3 mods for that forum and over 30 new posts today. 17,000 total posts in the particular forum and the total site stats here. Threads: 438,252, Posts: 3,246,069, Users Registered: 309,925.
IMHO this site has lost a LOT of its appeal since the "OTHER" forum was changed. There was a LOT more cameraderie and people were nicer IMHO when we had the REAL OTHER forum. I'm not trying to start trouble but wondered what everyone else thinks?? If a site with over 5 times the members can do it whay can't TDS?? I have been around here since the begining and have had 2 Ford-Diesel rallys that were promoted here. It just doesn't seem to be the welcome place it used to be.......... My thoughts exactly Matt.
I think it would relieve some of the tension around here. I know when I first joined I loved the tech forums but the other forum was a place to relax and learn more about each other here.
I think it would be a hug appeal for members if we reinstalled the other forum....but that is just MHO

I agree and I Know the forum that you speak of and it is a well run family type site. It ain't ob either.
I read 4 forums here now and used to read a lot more. One is of course The 6.o one since I bought my new 6.0h X and the X is another and come through here from time to time.
Heck they may be glad that I do not participate more than I do. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img] If I had registered when I first started lurking I would be in the high 3 digits, but that means nothing to me. just a thought.

You are free to have your opinion of course, but it is not coming back here. I like the site better without it, I think it keeps the site more focused. You obviously disagree. Discussing it further will not cause me to change my mind.
