Moderators

Is there a completed list of the moderators and admins for this site listed somewhere?

Tom

I don't see such a list right now.

We had one under the old forums software (UBBThreads), with photos and a bio and such. But it wasn't maintained, so it sorta got out of date.

Based on "corporate knowledge", there is now one administrator, and his username is Administrator.

There are currently 6 active volunteer moderators, and a couple not-so-active mods. The active mods are me, Believer45, klhansen, Dick Cutting, RDG and JohnM. JohnM sold his powerstroke years ago, but he loves us and we love him so he is still the moderator that watches over the For Sale forums.

If you go to the home page and scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will see a list off all the registered members that are currently logged on. The moderators and admins will stand out in green, so they are easy to spot. A few minutes ago there were 4 current moderators logged in.

Dick Cutting is a better forums navigator than I am, and he pointed me to the current list. But it's still almost useless because it contains so many obsolete names.

To see it, scroll up to the top of this screen and notice the menu bar. Click on "Forums". On the forums index, scroll way down to the bottom, past the Classified Ads section, and you will see another menu bar with two buttons = Mark Forums Read, and View Forum Leaders.

Click on "View Forum Leaders" and you'll see the list. The first section of "moderators" is the vendors, who moderate their own forums. Plus the list contains some errors you'll probably notice. Then you'll see a list of administrators, but most of those names are obsolete. Username "Administrator" is the one you want.

Then there's a list of 14 "Super Moderators". That's me and Dick and the other 4 currently-active moderators mentioned in my post above. The other 8 folks on that list are not currently active, and a few of those haven't been active for years.

"Super Moderator" just means that we have moderator powers in more than one forum. In the case of TheDieselStop, all the super moderators have full moderator powers in all the forums. And we aren't assigned specific forums. We all read only the threads and posts in the forums that interest us. We rely on members to click the "notify moderator" button if there is a thread or post that requires moderator attention. None of us yet owns a 2008-up, but we'll be Johnny-on-the-Spot if someone clicks the "notify moderator" button on a post or thead in the '08-up forums.

I, for one, would like to thank our moderators for keeping this place civilized. It's quite nice to find genuinely helpful advice without having to deal with the flame-wars, pop-ups and NSFW avatars that seem to populate most online forums.
Keep up the good work!
