After 5 years I paid off my truck today with the last payment . What a stretch over $500. a month for 60 months WOW. My baby is paid off now. NOW WHAT? I always wanted to have a truck that I owned for 25 or 30 years. What a great start. 147K miles and still basically running like new. Now for 20 more years. I hope everyone else has as much enjoyment in there truck as I have had in mine the last 5 and for the next 25 for me.
I go so excited I had to post this,

Well you know what that means... You now have expendable cash of $500.00 a month. It is now time to get rid of the clunker and buy the new 2001 Super Duty thats waiting in the parts bins in the Kentucky Ford Plant!

Hey BAZ -- guess what, me too!!
I just got back from the bank -- wow. I hate to sound like an old Toyota commercial, but O - O - O what a feeling! Hmmm, maybe we should meet somewhere in Oregon and buy each other dinner? Congrats - and I can honestly say, "I know what it feels like."

Johhnyboy3,
That really made me Laugh Out Loud.
I don't know why but it did for real. Now if I could only hit lotto and I might be talked into it for real.

Dale I,
I have friends in Spokane and I am in town 2 times a year that may be possible. One has a great Tuxedo and Bridal biz in the Franklin Park Mall up on North Division.

Re: MY Truck is Paid Off TODAY!!!! Can't believe it
Congratulations to you Bro. Baz.
Can a person that has reached "dirty old man" status, I retired in Dec., give you a little useless advice. I know because I did it and it has made a big difference in my finances.
If you will take two thirds of what you were paying in the note and put in a separate account and let it build you will have the money available for emergencies and down payments on vehicles etc..
I looked at it this way I enjoy the fruits of my labor more than the bank!. Up until I retired I was still paying my 76 COUGAR note and when I needed a vehicle, refrigerator whatever I was able to pay for it and saved the interest of what would have been in the financing. This also allowed me to pay off my house much sooner .
You are not used to spending it now, so it will be easier to pay yourself for a change.
I sort of hate to make a liar out of myself,
but on MY X I did finance the max and asked Ford motor credit if they would consider four million. They turned me down .
What happened was they had a .9% annual interest rate and I get over 5% at my credit union soooo I am making a net 3 and one half % on the loan as I had $22,000 equity in my 99 PSD .
Just something for you to think about.
I know you will enjoy your truck more now, and that is GOOD!!.
Hang in there Dave it is definitely a wonderful feeling Br. .
s to all and the best.
Ed
