Looks like an interesting site. I was disappointed however when I went to register and they have in small print "No overseas shipments or Canadian Orders"??? As I am in Canada, they pretty much exclude us. I was also concerned that their registration was asking for a credit card number on an unsecured site.

sreardon...I have to agree totally with you on this one! As far as I'm concerned F-D.com shouldn't even be advertising with a company that discriminates against others!! A couple of years ago, I sent my money order in to "Powerstroke Registry" and they sent it back, saying they don't take "Canadian" orders. Apparently those of us above the imaginary line that seperates our countries is like the Berlin Wall to Powerstroke Registry. I sent an e-mail asking for an explanation, but never received one, so I guess we're just blackballed for not being "American", although we do live in North America as all other Americans do. A good enough reason for us to be bias towards them as far as I'm concerned. Once I see their add on this site I'll be looking forward to "hopefully" seeing an explanation. Hopefully we will find an acceptable answer one day.

Before you go off with the discrimination tangent. My wife had a mail order/online business and there are some difficulties in dealing with foreign orders. First off many merchant accounts for credit card authorization and processing only authorize you to do U.S. transactions. Others charge a fee for any overseas orders. Shipping is also a pain. Now I'm not saying this is the reason but I doubt they did it to discriminate either. They are advertising to make money right, why wouldn't they want yours?
With that said we did ship overseas and often to Canada. There were occasions where items would take very long to arrive in other countries and then the customers were p****ed. My merchant account said I could not do overseas transactions but we did do some without authorization #'s and if we got burnt I would have been out the $$$. Sort of damned if you do, damned of you don't.

We have had major problems shipping orders from our store to Canada, so I can certainly see why they don't offer it there. It is a major hassle to fill out customs forms and pay extra shipping to get things there. Even then, there is sometimes a very long delay, the order never makes it, or the order is returned to us. So, don't blame the PSR, blame your country's customs department. It isn't the USPS, because we have had the same problem with other carriers.
Thanks for the reply F350Lawman, but I DID send them a U.S. money order, and it is a magazine, of which I do get other magazines from the U.S. without a problem. With the difference in the dollar I was even willing to pay nearly DOUBLE what any other American citizen would pay, and I still received no reply as to why they couldn't send it to me. I do live 10 minutes from the U.S. border!
I can see possibly sending to some regime in Africa might be a problem, but Canada to many of us is like an extension of the U.S. and would even like to be part of it (although our government doesn't think the same of course).
Anyway...hopefully a proper explanation will come one day.
Dale...

Yes, Canada is much easier. I was just suggesting that many small outfits have accounts that don't process non-U.S. orders, so they may have a policy. The big magazines don't have those problems. I see your point about the money order though. Part of the reason my wife stopped doing it was the shipping/payment hassles. They may be just trying to keep it a simple as possible. It does stink for the Canadian members. Good luck

I fail to see that a magazine should have a problem getting to my mail box??? I too have subscribed to many magazines originating in the US (Truck trends, Popular Mech, etc etc etc).
It sound funny to say, because our dollars is so under-valued at the moment, but I find myself buying regularly from companies in the US. Example: My Bedrug, clear roof clearance lenses, tonno cover (and hopefully Ford-Diesel). All these thing were purchased over the web (using a secured site not what PSR is making available)(F-D store is still not secure for me Jason) or purchased over the phone. In both cases, using a credit card.
Let's face it guys, we have paid for "Free Trade", we have the longest un-protected (let's not go there...) border, we too have Master Card and Visa (which by the way takes care of the exchange). As for Customs, put it in the mail system. Don't ship it. But even if it was shipped, I got my Bedrug, clear lenses, tonno cover etc via puralator, UPS or whatever with NO PROBLEMS, customs and all.
All this to say, if you want to do business with Canada, you can.
Hell, I will walk to the border at Cornwall and you can hand me the PSR magazine right in my hand.
Enough said. They simply don't want our money!

Thanks. That would explain why they don't have a secured site. But still, they don't have the technology (or willingness) to ship to Canada.
That does concern me that in this day and age, they can't take orders on-line.
(I wish there was a spell checker)

My wife has several sisters that live in Surrey. They all have PO boxes in Blaine. They order off the internet and have it shipped to thier PO box. That would be one solution. Subscribe and have it shipped to your PO box.

Ok, I know where is Surrey is. But where is Blaine? Is it in BC too? If I have to drive to the PO box in the states, doesn't that defeat the purpose of our great postal service (He He He).

It would be a long haul for you as Blaine is in Washington state just across the border from Surrey. I was refering to Powerstroke2000 when I made that suggestion. However if you enjoy driving your PSD, go for it.
