I have an idea for a new forum that would function as a photo database of our trucks with various modifications. This would allow members to view lots of photos of trucks that have been categorized by their modifications. The new forum would need to have the UBB image tag ( [ img ]http://photohere.com [ /img ] ) activated, which merely provides a link to a photo at
www.photopoint.com or wherever. Here is an
example at another site of photos that are placed within the topic posts. (BTW, I think photos within normal posts would probably get annoying, but not if they were in a dedicated photo forum.)
Some of my organizational thoughts... To keep it organized, I would suggest only the moderator be allowed to post new topics (i.e. categories of photos such as "lifted trucks," "bumpers," "step bars," "flares," "exhaust mods," etc.). I would think we could come up with a list of about 50 topics that would cover everything on one page of topics in the forum. To cut down on clutter, members would be allowed to post only one photo per topic, but they could edit it whenever they like. One potential problem I can foresee offhand is that some categories will run several pages and take a long time to load (e.g. there will be 100's of photos of lifted trucks regardless of how we try to split it up). Nonetheless, this will sure beat paging through an endless list of random trucks looking for pictures of a particular modification or searching for signatures that might contain the sought-after photos.
What do ya'll think? Obviously, we need Jason on board since he would have to set it up and find a moderator
