With the new look I seem to have lost the "feature" that shows the messages that I've already looked at. In the past, new forum threads would be in bold (I think, anyway) and once it's been looked at, it would "un-bold." Now, everything is "un-bold" and I can't tell what I've looked at before - or what's new or old.
Also when folowing a paticular thread, if I click on it to read a new post - if there is one, I can't tell now - I'm always taken to the first original post, not the newest.
Does any of this make any sense? Is there a button that I hit wrong or need to push again?
Thanks in advance,
Jon in American Fork and LAX

If there are new replies to a thread, this version will put a little red number beside the number of replies.
Of course, if you are not logged in or have your settings to not allow cookies, then you will not see the red number. I would check those settings if I were you.

When I go into my messages I can find all the ones I received but not the ones I sent. Are they gone or am I looking in the wrong spot?
Oh, and if you remove the quotes from the "red" and "tan" in your signature the colors will work again.

The messages you sent are there, they are just intermixed with the ones you received. I don't see a way to separate them as of yet.
If you look through those messages, you will find them but I have to admit, the way it's done is confusing. On the plus side, I don't think future PMs will be that confusing. I have had a few PMs since the changeover and the original PM as well as any followup replies by either myself or the other party are shown in the same PM as a string just like in the forum....
BTW, thanks for the heads up.. I hadn't even noticed the glitch in my sig.

Thanks Roper. I adjusted my cookies and I now see the little numbers so I can tell what threads have new entries. My little numbers are still black, but at least I can tell what's going on now.

Ya, the red (3) number of new replies is good to have, but not near as easy to see quickly if they were bold, or the topic was bold as well.
I'm still getting used to it and that seems to be the one thing that's tough t get used to. It's more work looking to see what/if there are new replies.
I've also seen, early on, where many switch to read, even using cookie crumbs to get back to the top. Although it seems like not read are starting that way until I actually read them now. But you don't know if something got marked if you didn't know it was there.

I agree. The bold topic indicators used to be a quick and simple way of identifying threads with new posts. Now, it all looks the same, except for the smallish red post indicators.
Personally, I think it adds to the "cluttered" look of the new layout, but that's just my $0.02.
Just gotta get used to it. Looks like Jason and Crew are tweaking it a little everyday. Lots better now than Sunday.
So are the birthday notifications gone for good?
