New Member Question about Some Posters

First off, I would like to say that I appreciate this forum and the information I gathered before ordering my 2004. It should be here in a couple of weeks. I have been watching the 6.0 forum specifically in order to educate myself on this engine. My only other diesel experience was with a 99 7.3 which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have noticed that there are a couple of posters in the 6.0 forum which appear to be Dodge truck owners. That in and of itself appears to be no problem, however they seem to be pretty harsh on the Ford products and offer no insight to assist anyone else. I'm curious as to whether this is common on these forums and why it is tolerated by moderators. It sure makes the forums sour for people who are trying to learn something. Once again, I know I am new and I apologize ahead of time if I am out of line. Thanks again to all for information that has been handed out. Take care and be safe!

Re: New Member Question about Some Posters

I'm just another member here like you. I concur with your observations. My theory about the "dodge boys" is this.
The bigger kids on the Dodge forum were picking on them so they came here.
Ford people are far more tolerant towards children.

Enjoy the site, I sure do

Re: New Member Question about Some Posters

I've noticed most of the Dodge guys on here are a great bunch and there are some, just like the Ford guys, that are here to make trouble. It is just like trying to find a good radio station to listen to. Sometimes you have to go by and tune out the garbage to get to the good ones.
Most of what happens here is good and the bad is a small minority.

Re: New Member Question about Some Posters

You're not out of line autorotator, you've posted in the correct area, that's a good start!

You'll see the negative in some posters because they can hide behind their computers and just like to stir the pot. For the most part, you'll find some really good information and a majority of the folks on this site a down to earth (or in prison... )

Enjoy the site and if you see something out of line, there is a "notify moderator" button towards the bottom of the post.

Hey Clay!
Welcome to the forums! It looks like you know how to separate the trash from the good stuff, so you'll have a good time here. There's a mountain of stuff to learn, and you might have some insights WE may need to listen too also. A good sense of humor is handy too....

Clay as I see you have noticed the agitators and most of the time I skip past their post, because when you get into a pe*ing match with them that is what they want. They must be attention deprived or immature. Every site regardless of subject matter has this problem to one extent. Kinda like when you autoroate, - ain't good for nothing.

Enjoy the forum and look around the rest of em and do by all means keep a sense of humor and overlook the crap unless you have a sure fire put down for em.

Re: New Member Question about Some Posters

Seems to me it comes down to the guys who are "brand loyal". I almost bought a 6.0 and would hate to be in the shoes of those with the problems. It's the wrong place to stir the pot and those that do are ignorant.

Re: New Member Question about Some Posters

Actually your 'new viewpoint' is nothing to apologize about...
And welcome to the site... your attitude is proper and will fit in well here.

While healthy debate is a good thing and differing viewpoints help those with an open mind to 'see around a corner' they've not looked around...
Some take it beyond the 'helpful' phase...

Such is the internet - the only other problem with it is...
we didn't all buy stock in it 30 years ago when we should have :-)

Re: New Member Question about Some Posters

Clay...
Welcome to TDS.
Hope ya love the new truck.
Yeah...do what Sid said.
Get what you need and ignore the BS.
(Check my sig.)

I had 3 PSD's(95,99,2K) and I am currently looking for an older one to add to the family. The son is only a blink away from a DL.
Plus we'll need another truck for the biz.

Point?
Things are not always as they seem.
