Page so slow ......

Over the past several days the page has slowed down considerably.....

I get only the TDS banner at the top with a blank page every time I switch to answer a post or change forums etc for about 20 seconds...... It happens on dialup and on high speed. Has there been a change to something I can rectify..........

Pete

But only for 2-3 seconds on 4-7 mbs cable. I assume dial-up might lag a bit.

I have the same problem and I have Cable. It takes 8-10 seconds and only on this site, starting to get frustrated and am just about to go over to one of the other two forums that I frequent.

I have cable at home and a direct line at work. I have very similar response times. About 4-5 seconds at work and 6-8 at home. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it is noticeable crappier than any other forum I frequent...

I have a 30 mb a sec cable connection and I get the lag sometimes worse then others. Its because it loads the retarded ads first then loads the forums. The lag is from us have to wait on the slow ads server.

If the ads were added second to the content we really want to see, it would be fixed. The overall slowness is from the Google ads for sure. I have high speed DSL and this page took 10.54 seconds. That is really slow.

Not one specific page any page the "delay" happens when we have to download or connect another server. Sometimes one server other times another. I will try to get a screenshot of the next server it hangs on.

John,

I have the same problem, especially when first loading the forum page. (AOL and dial up).

This is really bad and I have the sidebar turned off. I have not timed it but it's more like 20 seconds for me.

None of the other 12-18 forums I visit do this.

It's not like I visit here like I used to, but honesty, looking at a blank screen for this amount of my free time is not worth it.
