Re: Picture upload question

Hig,
If you have a graphics program on your box, you can use a resample feature and save the image at lower resolution. You can also define a smaller size and resave it. Also, you can save it as a .jpg file and save at lowest quality if your software has a slider bar that allows you to set compression. If you have MS Photo Editor, it should have a "save for use in. . ." feature and you select web, then it allows various file sizes and qualities. Hope this helps.

Re: Picture upload question

I am assuming you have some sort of photo editor. Keeping the photo under 600 KB of memory should be about right. Just a ball park figure.

With your photo editor and picture open, press CTRL + G

That either will or won't open the image sizer control panel

If it does,

It should tell you how much memory the picture is using. You will also be adble to adjust the size/amount of memory used.

Re: Picture upload question

I use Microsoft Picture It! Photo 7.0.

as my editor.

With that, I open the file, then while I'm looking at the too-big photo, up on the top of the screen is a menu bar that includes a "Format" button. I click on that, then on "Resize Image".

To double-check what others will see, I then save the photo with Pictire It!, then exit Picture It! and open up Microsoft Paint - the simple little graphics program that's free with every install of Microsoft Windows. It's usually in the "Accessories" folder. What you see on the screen in Paint is about the size it's going to print out on a printer for anyone that doesn't have a "fit to page" routine in their photo printing software. Such as folks that use Paint as their editor. And as far as I can tell, Paint doesn't have a resize feature.
