From what I can tell, polls were disabled in this version of the software that runs the website. Under the previous version that was replaced a coupla weeks ago, polls were allowed. But they were rarely used by informed members.

That test poll was posted by a moderator after the new version of the software was implemented, so apparently administrators and moderators can still post polls. But when I compose a new post, I don't see the option to include a poll that was there until a coupla weeks ago.
