Re: Poll... Flat Mode or Threaded

I can solve it quick. So far this month, the showflat script has ran 1,173,229 times while the showthreaded has only ran 10,705 times

Re: Poll... Flat Mode or Threaded

I gess that I'm a threader. Been here a year and a half and never had tried the flat , now I can see where it would be better for a lot of post that have multipul pages unless you are bored and want to read everything. Now I need to change my vote to both. <ul type="square"> Jim
Re: Poll... Flat Mode or Threaded

[ QUOTE ]
If this is in response to my post that traditional users use threaded view, I'd like to expand that statement a bit. By "traditional" I don't mean thedieselstop only. All BBs in general. (Anyone else do the local dialup bb, before internet?)

[/ QUOTE ]

Phil, I ran my BBS back in the day and always hated the threaded deal. I love the flat, I can just scroll up to reread a post. I'm kind of forgetfull and need to brought back up to speed from time to time.

Re: Poll... Flat Mode or Threaded

[quote all the surveys in the world aren't going to change the man's mind. He runs it as he sees fit.

[/ QUOTE ]

And why shouldn't he !?!?

I visit a lot of sites and of all, this is the best... They all have their good and not so good points...
but I like this one as is... no matter HOW 'that' is...
it's an information kiosk to me !

Yes, it could be changed, but at what cost...
and it has been written the best way the writer determined it SHOULD be written...
sometimes the 'issues' are with the user rather than the product!
I don't care HOW many bells and whistles my wife's lincoln LS has... she still won't use the cruise, still won't use the auto air, still won't use the rain sensing wipers... she's a young manually oriented gal ! And she can do what she wants - that's ok by me - I LIKE her hands on approach :-)

But, don't take it to a personal level - just like with any supply and demand system - if it's not liked than it wouldn't have so many participants...

I use flat mode but I really should change to threaded. Flat mode reminds me of my x wife for some reason

on edit: all the surveys in the world aren't going to change the man's mind. He runs it as he sees fit.

[/ QUOTE ]

Guess I'm lucky Rhea, doesn't remind me of my wife at all. I use the flat mode. So much faster and I like to see all the posts without having to click on anything.
