pop ups now? what's next, no wonder this site is so slow

now I am getting pop-up messages at the top of my screen. this site has gone way downhill, it is extremely slow, and it's not my computer thats slow it's this site. well actually the advertisments load fast but the actual foums take forever, coincidence?

I wonder how many member this site has lost b/c of all this crap since the changeover......

I am usually not one to make a fuss but this site has become ridiculous, it was one my favorite sight but not anymore

I have to deal with enough commercials on the TV now I have to deal with them here?

Its to make more money off the site. When ever the site owner allows pop ups or pop unders they get a percentage of the money every time the ad is clicked or if something is bought. Its freakin stupid, granted I understand the purpose behind it, but its a GREAT way to drive off customers & supporters!!!!!

Pop-up blockers work wonders. I haven't seen a pop-up in over a year.

What I thought was a pop up on mine was a sponsors add that loaded quicker than the forum that I was going to. It makes me want to NOT buy anything from those sponsors even if it is because of the format that the owners of the site are using.

I use Firefox, love it. Have not seen any Pop-ups that it blocked, ect... I also have the side bar blocked in my settings. However if I was on dial up, I know it would be slow, because I have noticed a big difference in speed since the new company took over this site.

Yeah, Firefox works wonders, I love it. I feel the same as you bug man, pop-ups kill it for that person trying to sell something, it drives me nuts & I never want to see that site again..

IE7 has it built in. Click on tools and it should be the second line down. Enable it and you will see your last pop-up. I didn't realize it was an issue here. Firefox does a great job at it also. I haven't seen a pop-up in a couple of years, anywhere.
