Re: Post/Sig Images Turned Off

Renegade -- WebShots was taken over by another company and they switched servers. You will need to re-link your pic, then it should work. You should also check any links in your sig just to make sure they are still valid.

I agree we lost what was obviously a very popular feature and for what ? It still runs slower than ever before.

Re: Post/Sig Images Turned Off

Good move in my opinion; I'm here for information, not the pretty pictures. Doesn't matter how cool the animation is if I gotta' wait for the page to load up.

Re: Post/Sig Images Turned Off

The smilies are still there as has been explained many times. Look in the FAQ. Also, only a very small percentage of the country even has DSL or cable available.

Re: Post/Sig Images Turned Off

Pilldoc, the problem is that not all of us have cable or dsl available to us. Otherwise I'm sure we'd all jump at the chance for faster internet service!

Re: Post/Sig Images Turned Off

Sattelite is out there too. (just a suggestion if you are looking for his speed svc, not a snippy commnent)

I really liked the inline images. Sad to see them go. I liked being able to post other smilies that weren't available here.

Re: Post/Sig Images Turned Off

Pilldoc,
I have been trying to get set up on DSL since it came out, and it is still not available in my area.
I have sattelite for the TV. Everytime a little cloud rolls by, either the picture goes out or I start getting still images.
Think I'll wait.

Bob

Mine had two inches of snow on it and was reading a 44 before I went outside in a snowstorm and brushed it off. Once brushed off back to crystal clear picture and 99+

Re: Post/Sig Images Turned Off

I am connected at 28,800 tonight, usually around 46,600. I do not find the site running any faster than it ever has but i was able to speed my pc up a little by setting the max connection rate from 115,000 to 38,400 and i also clean my temp files once a week. It made a huge improvement on my end.

Re: Post/Sig Images Turned Off

Would having a cable modem really be any better? I have a cable modem and pulling up a page sometimes (like tonight) is sooo slow.

Re: Post/Sig Images Turned Off

I don't know what internet browser you guys are using but it makes a difference.
Dont ask me anything about AOL either. Never used it. Never will.

The Internet Browser that I use and highly recommend is Mozilla 0.9.6
It is safe and you can download it for free. It is easy to use and converts your bookmarks over from the browser you are currently using .

I have a cablemodem and to give you an example- my average time to open a page here (picture and all) is 1.59 seconds. It reads out the page open time on the bottom line too, real cool. Fyi, the home page on the ford-diesel site opens in under 4 seconds from the time I clik on it in my bookmarks.

You can get Mozilla 0.9.6 at: www.mozilla.org

You guys (& gals) with slower telephone connections will notice a difference.

Thank you.

You said it...A carnival. I like the idea, but it got annoying quickly.

Keep up the good work.
