Posted messages with many replies.

Is there any way to just recieve the last 10 replies to an original post. Some are getting way up there 50 or more replies and it can take several minutes to recieve all those posts when all you want to read is the last two or three. Else could the replies be rolled over to a "new" post on the same subject so as to reduce download time? Maybe a choice button when you pick a post that has a lot of replies asking if you want to see original post and all replies or just last 10 or so replies.

Re: Posted messages with many replies.

The next version of the software (due out in about a week) will allow me to specify how many replies to show on a page. So, if I set it to 20 messages per page and the thread has 100, the thread would be broken out into 5 pages. You can then click to only read the last 20 replies if you want.

This is one of their most requested features.

Re: Posted messages with many replies.

Except for surveys... it seems very few threads stay on-topic very long. Might be great for the list-owner/admin to lock the topic and start a new one taking off on the new subject matter. Make any sense?
