Is posting a link to another site against the rules?
People come here to get information. If someone asks a question or needs help that is not available here, what is so wrong about directing the person to a place that can help?
I'm not talking about steering people to join another site, but just directing someone to info?

From the forum agreement:

So yes, if that site is a competitor (and the one you posted is) then posting links to it is prohibited.

basically a Harley bike site with a couple hundred thousand members. No competition to this ford Diesel site in fact never a mention of a ford PU other than someone towing their bike cross country. Surely not a competitive site. A good one for you bike guys.

Lot's of the smaller diesel sites have some dedicated members that like to come here and "spam" their sites. Some also like to come here and criticize. Try walking around in a Coke plant drinking a Pepsi and see where that gets you. Same thing.

That was not my intention for posting a link. If you re-read my question that is clearly stated...

Was not directing that at you, at all. Did not even see your post that caused your question. I was giving one of the reasons for the policy. Nothing personal I can assure you.

Not even close to what I was referring to. To keep from having the thread closed I'll just type a few words, you can fill in the rest---banned, brain-dead losers, late nite posts. Remember??
Re: Is posting a link to another site against the rules?
Yeah they don't like you to have your own opinion here. I wrote some posts about their software and they all got locked. And this BS about emissions stuff is stupid. The forums about upgrades IS FOR UPGRADES which sometimes includes deleting emissions stuff. If you are racing off road it is not illegal! This is the only auto site I know that deletes those threads. Allowing them does not make Jason liable. It's just stupid...

Obviously you have some knowledge of software......but zero knowledge of the reality of business.......start your own site and run it as you wish. Jason has stated that he is not changing the servers or software to please you, move on!
