i've looked everywhere on this sight to try and figure out how you guys post pics underneath your user names. some of them are pretty neat and i would like to do the same, can someone point me in the right direction please. any help would be appreciated!!! First, you can post an avatar picture to the Photo area.
Select the one you posted for the avatar and get it to display. Then right click on the image itself and select "Properties" from the drop down menu. Highlight the URL address as shown in the properties window. Do a ctrl + C to copy that URL to your clipboard.
Next, go to "My Home" (above on the second bar beside "Search"). Scroll down to "personal info" and select "edit". Scroll down to the text box titled "URL to your picture". Place your cursor in that box and then do a ctrl + V to copy the clipboard into that box.
Finally select "submit" at the bottom of that page. Your avatar pic will then show up under all your posts and any new ones going forward.

To add to what Dick said: Be sure the photo you begin with is either JPG or GIF format. If it's not, run it through a photo editor and save it as a JPG.
Also be sure the filesize of the JPG file is less than about 100kb. If it's not, edit the photo with photo editing software to reduce the size to not more than 2" high. There's at least two ways to do this: One is to "resize" the photo to a smaller size using photo editing software such as Microsoft Picture It!. Another is to crop the photo to get rid of extraneous stuff such as driveways, treetops, and sky. Dicks avatar would look better and show up better in the tiny avartar space if he cropped it a lot. I special-ordered it new and plan to drive it until it quits.
My avatar is already cropped and resized to 65x72 pixels. I could crop it down heighth wise but to crop it any more horizontally would cut the nose or rear end off the truck. 65x75 is the max avatar size.

You have to use a graphics program to do that. There are many ones available. One neat free one can be found HERE.

Click on the link that says "photos" on the top menu bar above. Log into that area using the same username and password that you do for the forums. Then click on "Upload Photos" and follow the menu and fill-in boxes.
