Re: Posting pictures in our posts?

Sorry, I don't like it. Just post a link instead of embedding the picture directly in your posts. That way, users have the option of viewing it instead of being forced to.

Only if we keep the list of displayed smileys small, and just have a link that says "See More SMileys".

The sites that I have been on that have a million smileys take forever to load cause they try to post them all during your "Post New" screen.

Re: Posting pictures in our posts?

I vote for embedded pics too. All the cool BBs on the web have it. If you are not going to enable it I suggest you code out the "Image" option in the message post form. I posted an image using this tool and it took me a while learn that that feature is disabled.

Re: Posting pictures in our posts?

I see one big problem with allowing pictures to be posted...and that is for users with slow-loading systems (slow speed dial-up connections, etc). If picture embedding was allowed, it'd take forever for some people to load one thread.

I'll admit that I like the idea of being able to post a picture, but I think Jason's right on this one.

More smileys would be nice, but I think the software limits that...c'est la vie, eh? I can get across what I want with the smileys provided. Just don't take away the or the or the please.

Re: Posting pictures in our posts?

I personally don't care much for a wide variety of "smiley" faces or embedding pictures. Always somebody who will abuse it.

I find the size of some of the signatures annoying enough as it is.

As far as all the "cool" sites having it goes . . . not true. This site doesn't (insert smug smiley face)
