Re: Posting Pictures in the Photo Gallery

May not be the one you are referring to but it is a 1941 M+H Truck

Re: Posting Pictures in the Photo Gallery

That PHOTO is of one of Dick's trucks if I am not mistaken. His web site got me interested in the M&H conversions and these old Fords. My understanding is that Ford did not build any civilian 1942-1945 models and that the 1946 was identical to the 1941

Re: Posting Pictures in the Photo Gallery

To clarify a few points. Ford did build civilian vehicles during that period. To get one you had to be contributing to the war effort in some way. A lumber mill here was and they got a new 1944 1½ Ton Ford. The son of that guy has it now. It's still in town. They were different in that the steering wheel spokes were plain steel and also the clutch and brake pedals had just steel surfaces. No rubber covers. Same thing with Chevys. I had a 1944 2 Ton Chev and is shown on my web site. The '44 Chev had steel rod welded seams on the cab that were visible whereas the earlier and later trucks had leaded in seams. They saved the lead for the war effort.

The 46 Fords did not look like the 41's. The cab was the same but the front end, grill, fenders were different. Again, my web site shows those year trucks. Here is a page that shows a '41, a '44 and a '45. The '46's (and '47's) looked just like the 44 and 45's.
