we at the NORCAL were privileged to have the SMD MOTORSPORTS EXCURSION at this year's rally.
We were able to secure it because the Scaroni Race team was pre-running the BITD Las Vegas to Reno thru the desert race , which covered over 500 miles.
The actual race was run last weekend (Sep 28) and according to an email I got from Steve Scaroni just the other day, the Excursion placed 3rd in class, as they
"got stuck in some blow sand which cost us 3 or 4 hours".
I have pictures of the rig and our rally, which I hope to post shortly

If it's an Excursion, then can I assume it's an automatic transmission? Wonder what torque converter they used with that power. Maybe the one they rebuilt from my truck?
I would like some seat time behind that wheel.

Last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway the NASCAR Craftsman Truck race included #29, the Ford Power Stroke.
Well, it wasn't really a Power Stroke engine - just sponsored by Power Stroke, I assume. Anyhoo, I yeahed for it until it crashed late in the race. Good driver. Good truck. He was in the top few until he crashed. Durn!
So you NASCAR truck race fans keep up with that one.

I was surprised to hear that the heavy PS was entered in the Baja 1000 and after reading it was in an Excursion I fell out of my chair
Go PS go!!I hope this Beast will do well...

Smokey,
You are assuming correctly, that certainly is no powerstoke engine in the the #29 nascar race truck or any of the other nascar race trucks for that matter.
