Jason,

Can you give us any status on these folks as far as their TDS sponsorship here is concerned and what their commitment is to doing what they have in the past. It seems that the gent that spearheaded or at least managed a good portion of this effort, Dale Lakin has left according to a post that I hit the "notify moderator" thingee on earlier today (can't find that particular thread) and I saw another post where he was not listed as a Sponsor.

When he was heading up that effort they seemed to be a great resource and it appears that both their website and actually responding to orders are questionable and if that effort has basically gone belly up the TDS membership I think needs to know the current status, etc.

I just responded in a thread where someone was having problems accessing their site and was wondering what might be going on. If this effort is under new management I think we need to know.

Thanks,

Larry

Larry,

Just an FYI, I have been in contact with Chris Emmons @ Powerstrokeshop.com this week. He gave me good customer support. I had ordered a hub, and when it arrived it had a broken sensor wire connector. He promptly sent a new one out.

That's good to hear and I'm not trying to create problems where there might not be any, but only responding to what I'm seeing in a few recent posts here.

Larry,

I just looked at the Sponsors link and they are still listed as a Sponsor. Apparently, their main page to their website is down for some reason though.

I realize that, but sometimes those Sponsor links are not as current as they should be and Dale was listed as a Sponsor heading up the powerstokeshop effort and now he is not as shown HERE so something has changed, I'm not sure what it is, but there have been some disconnects in TDS members dealing with them that I have seen in a couple of posts. Look at that notify mod e-mail I sent earlier that talked about Dale now working there now and what was happening with the website.

I'm just trying to make the membership here aware of what may or may not be going on.

Re: Powerstrokeshop.Com

Since I was alerted to this thread by a friend I thought I could answer a few of your questions Larry.

I am not listed as a sponsor because I asked Jason to remove the designation from my userid and place it on Chris' ID which if I remember correctly is IndyChris. I am no longer an employee at Wabash Ford aka Powerstrokeshop.com and felt that was the "right" thing to do.

As for the sponsorship of TDS it was paid for a year in advance through next March if memory serves me right.

Hope that clears my status up if you have any other specific questions about the intent of Powerstrokeshop I suggest you contact Chris at info@powerstrokeshop.com I don't feel it is my place to speak for him or the organization even though I left on amicable terms.

edit:

Site works fine for me???

Re: Powerstrokeshop.Com

I'm not in daily contact with advertisers and don't know specifics of their internal business. I think Dale answered most of your questions. The site seems to be up now, it looks like they are going through an upgrade.

Re: Powerstrokeshop.Com

Thanks for the post Dale. Yes indeed, I am now in the lead position here at the Powerstrokeshop. Things are still the same, we still have the same company behind us. I would like to think things can continue as they were, albeit my time for the boards will be limited.

I am currently doing nothing but taking care of E-mail, orders and phone calls. Things will go on as planned with trying to sponsor here, with a bit less activity. I will not be able to post as much as Dale did, he was extremely helpful in that regard. I would love to do more at home, but my country phone lines are currently running only 12k! (Sometimes if its nice and dry, I get 19.2!)

We do still have a totally re-designed website in about 80% completion, that will be easier to use as well as more stable. There are numerous complaints about the current system that are not being fixed to our liking, but we have no choice but to ride it out until we finish the new site.

I know things can be hard to figure out on the PSD and the website, so if anyone needs help please call. I will always do everything in my power to help.

As Dale said, any comments can be directed to my email at info@powerstrokeshop.com, or call 800 572-1422.

Thanks,

Chris Emmons

Re: Powerstrokeshop.Com

Chris,

Thanks that answers all my questions and hopefully will clear things up. I just wasn't really sure of the status and what was happening. While I haven't had the pleasure of doing business with you I have often referred members to your site especially for OEM parts and didn't want to continue to do that if somehow you were winding down and I'm happy to see that this is not the case.

Re: Powerstrokeshop.Com

Well, I currently have mixed emotions concerning Powerstrokeshop.com. Based on good reviews here, I ordered the AIS filter assembly and received it within a respectable timeframe (Tuesday, 22 Nov 05). Unfortunately, when I opened the box, one of the mounting tabs was broken off and was lying inside the box. The box appears to have been crushed slightly as there is damage where the mounting tab was broken off. I immediately called and left a message on Chris' answering machine and sent an email to info@powerstrokeshop.com. I also called UPS to report the damage but their rep said that the "shipper" had to report the damage. The email I sent to powerstrokeshop.com was returned as "user unknown" so I carefully sent another email and left a second message for Chris. The second email was also returned as undeliverable (unknown user) so today I sent a third email to info@powerstrokeshop.com from a different email account and it also was returned as undeliverable (user unknown). I also left a third message on Chris' answering machine today and so far I have not received ANY communication from them since I reported the damage (three times).
Does anyone know what may be going on or have any advice for me? Perhaps Chris took a lengthy Thanksgiving break? Is there another email address that might work? If anyone knows how to get in contact with Chris or anyone else at Wabash Ford that can help, please forward this info on to them as I REALLY need a useable AIS filter for my truck as soon as possible, and (according to their website) I can't return this broken one without their prior authorization. My original order number was 12938199.
Thanks in advance,
Ed
