Pub, Lounge, Off Topic, Anything goes..........

I see the majority of the other sites owned by Autoforums have these areas like we used to have the other forum. Any chance this may be coming back with the new ownership?? It would be nice to have a place to say happy birthday, Congratulations, Post info on deployed members and god forbid post about any of our members passing on. I had one of those posts whacked last year. The rules from the Ford Forum in the Pub are plain and simple.

"Hi, welcome to the pub.

Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on the message board.

· All posts must be civil, friendly, and not contain any profanity or references to profanity.
· All posts must have some point to them and some value. Internet "trolling" or "flaming" is not allowed.
· This is not a bar. You can't say whatever you like.
· Stupid, pointless topics will be deleted.
· Moderators/Administrators have a free reign here. If they don't like it, it's toast.
· Repeat offenders will be banned.
· This is a family forum - like it or not.
. Do not post "questionable" pictures or links in any forum. If the administrative staff does not like the links or posts, they will be summarily deleted without warning or explanation. This rule will be enforced rigorously."

Mjstef Sounds like a good idea to me,the new managment seems to be willing to make this a more user friendly place, and seem to be asking for suggestions, that seems like a good one.

Hopefully after a period of time for the new management to get entrenched they will let us have some form of such a forum. I am VERY sure that the old heads of the previous forums have STONGLY lobbied against such a forum. I have never understood the fear of a forum for diesel heads to let their hair down and talk about personal stuff. No cussing, no porno, just allowing us to enjoy each other without the word "technical" being shoved down our throat..........Jeese we all have other interests. We have had to walk a pirates chalk line in the "other technical questions" forum since some of the old fart moderators that are no longer here got it dumped. Sorry, but we had some good times there and yes it got "out of hand" a time or two, but nothing less than the same thing that goes on in other forums in other ways. Hopefully some reason will prevail under the new management. It would be nice to wish everyone a "Merry Christmas", "Happy New Year", or whatever, hey my son got admitted to colllege today without some moderator deleting it..........not "technical".........ok.

Funny Rheaman, you were here all the time until that forum got removerd........now you come on here and implicitly post against it.........where you hanging out now doing the same things you did here way back. Any personal interest in things getting back to normal here that would affect your new play ground?

One or two autocratic moderators with no lives other than bringing down the site on their own little whim.

BTW: On Christmas I posted Merry Christmas 3 or 4 times, no comment just Merry Christmas and one moderator proving his childish little point moved it to the moderator section 3 times.

I used to like the old forum where we could just talk about anything we wanted. It was all done quite well with moderation, not out of hand like it gets on some web forums. It seemed to give more of a sense of community as well as seeing, sharing, and learning from other people's experiences and opinions. People gained respect for each other and credibility was built. Hope it returns one day - just my two cents worth!

Hello Higgins, how are you? I thought of you the other day and chuckled a little bit when Deadwood came on.

The discussion here is getting off topic.

Let me assure you that this suggestion is being discussed among the Moderators and Admins. What eventually happens (if anything) will be up to the new Administration.

For now, this topic is closed.
