question to moderators

As a reader and occasional contributor to the discussions on this forum, I would like to ask the question of does any moderator know what happen to the referenced missing posts in the "NORTHERN CALIFORNIA DIESEL TRUCK RALLY" thread?

I'm just interested in the facts,

Thank you,

L.J.

p.s. I posted this as a new topic so as not to disturb the rally discussion

Re: question to moderators

I'm not asking about the referenced posts listed at

http://forums.ford-diesel.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=001269[/ URL]

rather I am asking about the original posts that were claimed to be deleted, starting the whole fiasco.

Thank you,

L.J.

Re: question to moderators

I haven't a clue. I rarely read that thread since I know I can't attend.

I don't remember ever seeing the posts in question.

Re: question to moderators

I also have no idea. I can see no reason at all that a moderator would have deleted them. On the other hand, I don't recall the forum software corrupting many posts in the past. So I'm clueless as to what happened if in fact there are posts missing. I do know however that I didn't delete them.

Re: question to moderators

If the person that posted them deleted them they are gone to cyber heaven without a trace,
Just a thought 'cause I have deleted some of mine in the past.

Take care,

Re: question to moderators

I believe Jason answered that question in that thread.

He stated that it was apparent that Psychostroker may have placed them in another thread. Psychostroker had no reply to that. I could only assume that it was a possiblity.

I deleted the other ones. They were unbecoming to this site and did disfavor to the NC Rally.

I believe anyone that participated in those owes Apology to Dean and Jake. I have already given mine.

Then lets drop this pile of dung. Get off our high horses and like real men spit in our hands and shake on it.

How could he reply...he got the boot.
Why would one post about the No.Cal rally in any other thread but the No.Cal rally?

Bottom line is he's gone, the posts are gone, the info is gone....and nobody knows what happened. All of which is unfortunate for all.

Re: question to moderators

Well put Max! We all benefit from each others ideas good or bad. I have had some problems in the past and let them go. I think if something derogitory is said edit it don't delete it. It may make people mad but its in the best intrest. I feel this site lost a good member in Psychostroker. But I AM ENTITLED to my OPINION! I am here to learn and one of the best teachers is gone. As far as the posts being deleted I know there was a response right below mine about me putting my ear to the ground its gone but thats all I am saying.

Re: question to moderators

It is my opinion that this site is going to lose a lot of good members with all that is going on.

Re: question to moderators

To whom it concern, I don't think Jason was or is right to remove Psychostroker from the board. If He were to think for a minute about what and who Psychostrocker knows he wouldn't have done what he did. And to call a member stupid is way off base,If someone called me stupid to my face infront of thousands of people they might catch one on the chin. If you offend enough people sooner or later they are going to leave,Nobody wants to be part of insults and slander. Later Thunder

Re: question to moderators

In my opinion this is a real unfortunate incident, and speaking as a very close friend of Bryan I just want to state for the record that he is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, and he is always willing to help you out if he can. I am not here to point a finger and say who is wrong or right, I only ask Jason that you reconsider your decision and allow a very fine a knowledgeable person to return to this great site.
Thank you for your consideration.

Best Regards, Richard (MADDOG)

Re: question to moderators

Yesterday was quite a day on the NORCAL Thread.
Anybody who follows it knows that we may pick up one or two posts a day, sometimes it may go 4 or 5 days without a post. When I got home last night and saw 11 new posts, I was pleasantly surprised until I opened them up and started reading, at which time I was horrified to see what was on our rally site, after more than 100 posts to the thread, to see the type of accusations being hurled back and forth, none which had anything to do with the reason I started this thread back in March.

As I stated in my reply yesterday, I had no idea as well as to what could have happened to those posts in question, but I did not want "MY" NORCAL RALLY THREAD used to convey insults and allegations and

I ,(big jake)

was the one who asked Jason to delete the 11 posts that were made to the NORCAL thread starting with a post dated and timed 6-11-2001 @ 10:13pm.

Keith Anderson (Carpentractor), was the moderator who deleted the posts which was done in a matter of minutes from the time I made the request.

Before Keith deleted the 11 objectionable posts, Bryan (psychostroker)had already emailed me an apology, asked if he would still be allowed to attend the NORCAL, and offered to help in any way he could.
He also stated that he knew why these posts were being deleted.
As soon as I got done reading Bryan's message, I got an email from Carpentractor letting me know that the objectionable posts had been deleted, and also an apology.

I then thought that all was well, went out to dinner and found more objectionable posts inquiring as to "where did all the juicy stuff go?" and I also asked to have this post deleted as well.

My point in all of this is simple:

The NORCAL RALLY is a passion of mine.

Ever since Dean Moore and I decided to put the first one together, which we did quite successfully, I might add, I have devoted almost all my waking hours outside of work to making this upcoming event the biggest and best diesel rally on the west coast this year.
I am still actively pursuing some really big names, names that everyone that visits Ford-diesel.com would easily recognize, as vendors and seminar conductors to attend this rally.

I can't invite a CEO of a diesel-related company to attend the NORCAL, ask him to check out the response of people planning to attend our rally by providing a link to the events and rallies forum, only to have him access the site and find all of this hate and discontent.
I feel that Dean and I both have made a sizable investment in terms of our time and money to put on what I think is a top-notch event, and if I feel that my investment is in jeopardy, I will seek the proper remedies thru this site.
Jason has made it easy for anyone to post to this site, but if the topic you want to discuss differs with the topic at hand, use that little box that says

"post new topic"
I regret the fact that we lost Psychostroker as someone posting to this site, hopefully it is something that can be resolved.

Thank you for letting me get this off my chest, it has been on my mind all day.

Feel free to email me if you like
