Question for moderators.

Sometimes I try looking on the 'For Sale' forum. It is the pits trying to find van stuff, there are so many more PU's than vans. So all the For Sale and Wanted stuff is for PU's.

Can we have a thread in the van forum for van Part For Sale and Parts Wanted? It could probably be one thread and it would make it possible to find van stuff.

The only other idea I had was to have a Van specific topic in the For Sale forum.

I posted this first in the van forum, and all responses were positive to the idea, although no one thought it was possible.

Thanks for considering it,

Mike

Re: Question for moderators.

We need to keep the ads separate from the regular forums. I don't see that it is too difficult to scroll through the sections.

Re: Question for moderators.

It's only difficut because there are so many F-series parts that it is very hard find the E-series part. It's not a problem to look for a PU bumper, nearly every bumper is for a PU. To find one for a van, you wind up looking at 20 bumpers only to find they are all for PU's.

I can understand that you want to keep the separate. May not understand why, but I understand that you want it.

To satisfy that requirement, but still make van parts visible, can we post a note saying 'VAN MIRRORS FOR SALE' in the Van forum and note in the post to look in the For Sale Forum for details? No pricing or details in the Van forum, just a heads up that there is a van part listed in the For Sale Forum.

That would be a violation of the rules agains advertising in the technical forums. That includes any "for sale" notifications in a signature as well as what you're talking about. Those get edited out when we see them.

Anyone posting something for sale in the For Sale Forum would be well advised to put the best description in the title of the post INCLUDING LOCATION for items that would be costly to ship.

Another help when posting in the Classified forums would be to turn off your signature. It would help in making the thread readable and would prevent false hits on a search for VAN, for instance.

I think that your example "Van Mirrors for Sale" would be descriptive enough to avoid confusion.
