Questions for the MODS????

Even though I didnt agree with yall banning posts about everyone wishing people a "Merry Chrismas", Happy New Year' , Happy Thanksgiving, I still came around and read posts and posted a little. I went to post in the thread "Woah 6.0 Issues" yesterday but desided it would be a waste of my time. Looked today and sure enough, LOCKED ! My question to yall is when will yall stop looking at the numbers of how many members you have. The quality of this site has went down since I first found it. Maybe its just a few Dodge owners who have nothing better to do than to bash the ford. Last I remembered this is a ford site. Maybe its a P.O.'d 6.0 owner who repeats himself every time he posts for the last year. I do agree that wishing somebody Merry Chrismas is off topic, not about trucks. But I bet everyone would agree on that topic and there wouldnt be any bashing. It will be a long time before I waste my time coming here again. I have found more creditable sites to still learn about my truck and members who respect others, Moderaters who wont tolerate members with nothing more to do than to bash brands or other worthless comments to fill the boards. Personally, I think this is a sinking ship. Fairwell.

Re: Questions for the MODS????

i aint been here for very long, and Sometimes i see the BS can get pretty thick. I'm not in 100% agreement with some of the things that are done here, BUT, i am NOT the owner of the site, and i have no say in it. So, we can either stick with it, or leave, simple as that.

For me, i plan to stick around for a good stay.

Why ban a simple Merry Christmas post and not a member who breaks the rules all the time that gets interesting threads LOCKED?

Evidently, it is a slow process..must be a pinhole. We've been sinking for years according to some, but the ship is still riding pretty high. I'm sure other sites are gaining users, but our stats here have not dropped (in fact, have seen an increase the last few months).

As will I. IMHO this is still the best site for technical knowledge out there. I have been to the other sites that people elude to in posts here. Even registered on a few. Surfed around a couple days and haven't been back.

I have read all the posts in this section about this sucks, or the search function is crap, or why did my post get deleted/locked, or why can't I do this, or geez Jason why can't I say merry xmas. It's ridiculous. I am about to say what Jason and the mods continually try to impress on everyone, but I'll say it again anyway .... This is a site for technical discussion of Ford diesel trucks, and all diesels to a much lesser extent.

I could care less what holiday it is, I don't need to read people bickering in a thread, etc. If you don't freaking like it here - LEAVE! There are plenty of other forums out there where you can whine about how bad it is over here at TDS, how the mods suck (you mods do a great job by the way - a thankless job) and how King Lester (sorry Jason, I saw you refered to as that somewhere else once) runs his site. Out of the entire package of users on this site, I don't think the stats would take much of a hit if every one of the trouble makers left and never returned.

If I do something wrong, I expect to be called on it. If my thread is in the wrong forum, move it. If I say something inflammatory, delete it. If my sig is too long, tell me to change it. I am fine with it.

Sorry for the rant, but I just had to get that off my chest. I am sure this is going to raise the hackles of some of the evil-doers around here, which will ultimately result in a locked thread, but I say go ahead mods - delete my post - lock this thread. I'd be proud.

Re: Questions for the MODS????

Well... "a long time" doesn't seem very long for you does it? I thought you were leaving?

Glad you finaly asked the question you ment to ask though. But they been answered many times.... in this forum. Whats the sense of asking again? I would suspect the answer will not change no matter how many times you ask it? And your never going to get the answer YOU want. So why beat a dead horse?

Re: Questions for the MODS????

Hey, i like it here, and if the dagnabbed ship IS sinking, i got super glue, patches, epoxy, jb-weld and a 1200 amp arc welder. Meaning, i dont want to see it go. NOT THAT IT IS. i'm just saying!
